Where verification starts
From your profile picture menu in the top-right corner, choose Become a Seller. That opens ID verification. Eldorado reviews what you submit and you can start selling once you're approved. If you haven't created the account yet, start with how to become an Eldorado seller.
The ID you'll need
Eldorado's verification guidance sets out these rules for the ID photo:
- A passport or driver's licence that is valid and not expired.
- Every side or page, not only the front.
- Your name, date of birth, expiry date and photo clearly readable. You may cover everything else.
- A sheet of paper reading “Eldorado” next to the ID, or the Eldorado website open in the background.
Getting the selfie right
The selfie is where most submissions go wrong. Eldorado asks for:
- The same ID you submitted, held with the photo page facing the camera.
- Your whole face visible, looking straight at the camera.
- Good light with nothing bright behind you. A window or lamp at your back turns your face into a silhouette.
- A new photo, not a selfie you made for another website.
Practical tip: stand facing a window in daylight, turn off the flash so it doesn't glare off the ID, and check the photo is sharp before uploading.
Why verification gets rejected
The reasons Eldorado lists come down to two things:
- Image quality: blurry, expired or cropped documents.
- Mismatches: a document that doesn't match your other documents or the details on the account.
If a submission is rejected you may be asked for a new one. Retake the photos rather than resubmitting the same files.
After you're approved
Approval unlocks the Sell button. From there, read the rules for your category and create your first offer. Eldorado says verification documents are securely deleted after 90 days.
